wwyjoe Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Hi all, I'm currently using a step down transformer for my Toshiba HD-DVD player (import fm U.S), and was wondering if the transformer is compatible with a Japanese PS3? I was told the Japanese PS3 runs on 100V while my Toshiba is 120V. Any difference?
wwyjoe Posted November 15, 2006 Author Posted November 15, 2006 Japan is 100V, US is 110V IIRC noted. so what does this mean? can a Jap set PS3 use the step down transformer as my Toshiba player?
SiriuslyCold Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 gosh I wouldn't know - and its scary to postulate as either piece of equipment can go *poof* can you call an electrician or somebody
wwyjoe Posted November 15, 2006 Author Posted November 15, 2006 yah man....really need to be sure before i plunk on the ps3. but thanks anyway
Jason Yeo Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Should be ok , I guess . Just make sure the power ratings on the transformer have enough juice for toshiba and PS3 . Wow, you bought the PS3? I use same transformer for all jap gamesoles and US accesories + Amp . So far no problem . But i will not hold any responsibility if anythings happens to your PS3 ;D
Doggie Howser Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 AFAIK most devices have a range of accepted input voltages (eg 100-120V AC) or (220-240V AC)
