zuko Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Is the RCA cable from AV receiver to subwoofer the same as the audio interconnect(can I use the normal audio IC cable?) Can I also use the normal audio RCA interconnect for the subwoofer connection from a SACD dvd player 'multi channe 5.1l' output to the AV amp 'multi channel' input?.. or do I have to buy specific ones for the suwoofer and center channel RCA ?..THANKS
DIRTRUN Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Hiya, If u want 'got sound' then yes any rca cable will do. BUT(big but) if you want something more credible can look up Beldens or Canares... Cheers Dirtrun
armoury Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 or do I have to buy specific ones for the suwoofer and center channel RCA ?..THANKS In fact, you should probably use the same interconnect for the centre channel as the front pair. Otherwise, if there are tonal differences in the way the interconnects affect the sound, this will affect the consistency of the tone of your front 3, which would affect smooth panning of sounds. Although it will take golden ears to hear a significant difference... IIRC, the "tolerance" of the sub channel is higher, i.e. its tone is less effected by things such as the cable, so in essence any decent cable will do, doesn't have to be some high end super ex stuff.
