slang Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Any recommendation for DTS-Audio cd with a good 5.1 mix to really test your system? I am planning to get the Blue Man Group. Any other recommendation??
SiriuslyCold Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 one note: DTS Audio CD is not DVD-Audio a DTS CD can be played on any CD player with a digital output to a DTS decoder (usually a AV receiver) DVD-Audio (DVD-A) is a different advanced resolutuon format and requires a DVD-Audio compatible player. Normally a DVD-A will also contain a multichannel DD or DTS soundtrack (so you can play it on any DVD player, but won't get the high resolution audio) Now, BMG's Audio (couldn't they have picked a less confusing name?) DVD-A is a good one but it isn't released here. One of the best DVD-A you can get nowadays is Queen's DVD-A The Game (better sounding than A Night At The Opera - which is still a great 5.1 mix) to really push the 5.1 however, you might want to find The Flaming Lips' Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots If you like Steely Dan, their Everything Must Go DVD-A sounds really good.
