Hi,

I am interested in these 2. I still don't know if I really need the PB12+ when we cannot blast it very loud due to neighbors. There is also a very big price difference. Anyway, is there anyone kind enough to let me audition their PB12NSD and PB12+? It will be better if you live near my place at {near} Paya Lebar MRT and Geylang area.

One thing more, how loud do you play your SVS? Are your neighbors not complaining? I live in a condo but the wall where I plan to place the sub is shared by the neighbor. Will my neighbor knock on my door if I get the PB12+?

Hi,

have you heard the PB12+ before purchasing your PB12nsd? if yes, are u ok now or you could have addded more to purchase a higher model like PB12+? how big is your HT area? and most important, how loud do you blast your sub before neighbors come knocking on your door?

if you stay near me, i would still want to hear your svs if no one else invites me to their home.

Depends on what time u blast that guy ah... Normally, its not too bad till ur neighbour wud do that if u're watching at sane hours... presume this will be ur 1st svs? Just get the biggest, most powerful sub u can afford.. wont regret it. there's always the gain control u can adjust for those late night sesssions...

After controlling my PB10, I'm looking for more bass now....

Hi wolf... I've never heard the Pb 12+. But i've heard Jag's twin PC 16-46+ and I must admit that i dun feel the sub moving the air like what I experienced in Jag's room. However that's expected furthermore my home theatre is in my living room. But can the Pb 12NSD rattle my wall, false ceiling and fixtures without breaking a sweat...? You bet. My sub's front port is also facing the walled shared by my neighbours but they too have never complained. In fact I asked them several times whether am i disturbing them, they also tell me that they can't hear anything and mind you... i play quite near to reference level. But I do admit that I like the air swooshing experience in Jag's room... hahaha

i would mostly listen to reference only during day time.

Getting the biggest and most powerful I can afford is where I am having problem. Am thinking that PB12nsd might already be an overkill in my place. So buying a PB12+ is unnecessary, but I may be wrong.  The PB12nsd is already stretching my budget since the spoilt sub I am replacing was only $400 then. Also, if i buy the pb12+, it will be the single most expensive in my HT setup. It's more expensive than my projector (X1) and receiver (Yammy 1400).

This is why I am eager to hear both subs. Hopefully, it will sway me to the right (or wrong??) direction.

approximately how big is your living room. i will also be putting it in my living area and the whole place is almost 4k cu. ft. Since you have experienced Jag's twin SVS, can you compare the chest thumping you experienced in Jag's place with your PB12nsd.

i'm staying in a condo too.... not too sure about cubic measurements... but our ceiling heights should be similar. My living room measures 3.5 x 5 m. The living room is joined next too the dining room.

Herat thumbing like Jag??? of course not... but even if you can get the twin 16-46+ subs you also won't get the similar effect because of the room size...

but I guess Jag would be able to answer this qn better...

I remember Wolf's place very well............Think I been to his place in '03 or 04.

I'd say go for the PB12+. Subs the least likely to upgrade (upgraditis not withstanding), just like speakers. Once buy, most likely will out last the costly recevier, pj......

PB12+ is better than NSD simply because of more headroom and power. Buy this and forever, you will know that u bot the best u can really afford. Any higher end, and its totally out of qn.

If can, go for the +. If really cannot, wife threatens to leave u, kids no money for lunch, then go for the NSD.....(if this really happens, maybe should reprioritise personal life) Just joking.  :P

Hi Jag,

Nice to know you still remember my place.

I just watch the interview of HSU owner (Dr ???) and he mentioned that there is no such thing as too much bass (or something like that).

The $1.1k price of pb12nsd is already beyond my budget but since Christmas and my bday are coming, I am hopeful that the $1.8k jump will be approved by the "FINANCE MANAGER". Am still courting her by the way, hehehe...

Anyway, I would still like to hear PB12nsd and PB12+ from anyones home. I would like to justify the price difference after listening.

ooohhhh, Jag, can I listen to your twin PC+?
