tnt1624705842 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Hi guys, need some advice. Currently waiting for my xr55 to arrived. Any recommendations for the transformer. I would also need a power stripe to connect up the rest of my equipment, cdp, dvdp, ps2 and td. The transformer will be plug into the power stripe. Budget about $200. Need some decent one as my estate is one of the old ones. It will be a 2 channel setup, so any minimum requirement for the power for the transformer? Thanks in advance for your help.
kzone Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 why did u get a 5.1 AVR for a 2 channel setup? intend to add more speakers later? Btw, Petetherock just revived an old thread to answer ur query...
void1624705836 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 There are some who experienced that higher wattage transformers makes a whole lot of difference (1000W). As for me i arrived in the middle and settled for a 500w transformer. But no chance to to A/B comparison between different wattage transformer- so i have no idea if it's true. Anyway my transformer so far so good - no humming noise at all. Use search function, i'm sure you'll be able to read some very useful info from other forummers. My experience with transformer - Solved with a universal adapter http://www.xtremeplace.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=41227.15

Thanks.

Yup it's from X-audio, but my speaker shipment was delayed and by the time it arrived, i've already spend the allocated fund for the XF1000 :-X So i make do without the power conditioner. Anyway i can't remember exactly how much - think it was $199 or $299. Better call and check ;)
