SteveAu Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 erm...nobody uses pioneer home threatre?
cracker Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 the cheapest HT system ,which I had seen, with HDMI input is the Sony Set going for abt 650 dollars. It has a standalone AV reciever with HDMI input as mentioned plus 5/6 satellite speakers U can view it at Isetan's Sony Gallery. Since ur budget is ~ 1000 dollars, u can use the remaining 350 dollars to get a HDMI DVD player.
SiriuslyCold Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 i think its this one the DDW870 make sure its got an active sub (instead of passive, it does say so in the specs) that way you can upgrade components of your system as you go along (speakers, receiver, subwoofer etc)

SteveAu Posted November 1, 2006 Author Posted November 1, 2006 wow!!! sound wise is it good?? can it playback any formats of video files? ???
SiriuslyCold Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 its not a DVD player - its a receiver you will have to get a DVD player separately cracker - the Sony website says active, but i suggest buyers should check first [self-Powered 100W Sub-Woofer with 20cm, Multi-range Driver ] (WTF is a multi-range driver?)
