I am setting up a home theather system at home mainly to listen to classical music (so the music mus be clear even at low volumes) as well as DVD screening and some gaming occassionally.

i dun really have a budget at hand but are those Home theather sets made by sony/panasonic/toshiba/samsung @ prices varying between $499-$799 worth buying? they also include a DVD player which is an all in one i guess.

can someone teach me like what i need to set up one like speakers? AV recever?

If  u are going the separates way U will need to get a AV receiver costing arnd $$350+ for lowest end. Then an active subwoofer and 2 front speakers a center and  2 rear speakers for a 5.1 setup.

Since you are looking for clarity - i would suggest that you go for separate setup. Most HTIB are built mainly for convenience, ease of use and aesthetic -  sound quality are normally compromised. But without a doubt HTIB still precedes those TV speakers.

However we are very different individuals, so HTIBs could very well be worth buying to some. So it's time you do some audition and enjoy the listening experience. At the same time you can find out the price of these setups.
