Jediknight Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Been using the SACD function on my Oppo with some cheapo cables (basically leftover free red/white/yellow connects from previous DVD/VCD players) from my analog outs to the receiver. Receiver has no HDMI in, so that's not an option even though the Oppo can output SACD via the HDMI. Wondering if upgrading them will make much difference, and which cables would be good. Would Belden 1694a be suitable?
Jediknight Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 Hmmm... No replies. Maybe it's a silly question.. :P Let me rephrase it ... What cables would you recommend for analog connection between the SACD player (Oppo 970) and the AVR (Panny XR25)? Do I need expensive "speaker" cables or will something like the Belden 1694a do? Sorry. Bit of a noob when it comes to cables. :-[
DIRTRUN Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hiya J, I am not a cables guy meaning I will not spend mucho dinares for isoteric cables so to me the 1694a will do or maybe the Canare uhm I forgot the model no thou. but you can check with Bro Jag... Cheers Dirtrun
SiriuslyCold Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 you need 3 pairs of interconnects; Musiclink sells a brand called TIFF for $25 a pair... very nice of course you can get cables fabricated by Robert at LHS - get him to recomend - probably better but costs a bit more when you factor in the connectors and workmanship
synthesis1624705793 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Belden 1694a is a very good video and audio cable. You can get this one if you feel good about it. Don't spend so much on cable. Save for your front and center upgrading. This will be much more meaningful.
