kmolth Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 how could the linesman make that kind of call from his distance >:( Oh the linesman really bad judgement.....ouch.... :(
SiriuslyCold Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 even so, poor showing from Liverpool :P should have at least earned a draw but for the misses (Bolton had 2 or 3 shots on goal only). anyhow, Bolton is a bogey ground for this liverpool team
Chowbotak Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Oh the linesman really bad judgement.....ouch.... :( I don understand why they still cannot make use of video as evidence >:( Anyway Bolton deserved the win
dude Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Anyone have any ideas on the injury situation for the team? Are the wingers who were bought all injured, to the extent that Stevie G has to play on the left? From the papers, only Kewell is injured. Based on the match commentary on Super Sports, seems that Stevie G was there to counter the Bolton right flank. Isn't that a bit of a waste?? Both for the wingers that we bought and the effectiveness of Stevie G? If not wrong, we've got Zenden, Gonzalez, Riise, Warnock, Kewell all for the left midfield. But on the right, we've only got Pennant. It's a compliment, for sure, to Pennant that he keeps his place, but that's not the way to play Stevie G. He's got enough skill to play anywhere, but where would he be most effective? The way I see it, the problem is actually in central midfield. Previously Hamann shared duties with Stevie G, then Alonso came along, and 3 was a crowd. Then Sissoko came as well, and 4 is just too much. So out went Hamann, and we're back to 3 central midfielders. Now, last season, with no right midfielder around, Stevie G played there, and as a right-footer, he was not lost at all. However, on the left, it's almost certain that he has to cut in to the centre, since crossing with his left is almost out of the question, and crossing with his right foot will surely result in an inswinging cross, easy for the defenders to pick out and deal with. Remember Houllier tried to do the same for Kewell, by playing him on the right? What happened there should have been clear to Rafa.
Necrohavoc Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 according to shebby, right-back ;) yes i heard that too ..thot the reaction by the ang moh (forgot his name) sitting opposite him was priceless ;D
SiriuslyCold Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 yeah! "have you been having a drink before the show, shebby?" ROFLMAO
luq_skywalker Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Bolton strives on perfection ... 2 shots on goal , 2 on-target, 2 goals ...
dude Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Bolton strives on perfection ... 2 shots on goal , 2 on-target, 2 goals ... I'm sure every team strives for perfection. The fact that Bolton had 2 shots only indicate that they hit Liverpool on the break.
f_spider Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Wat can i say about diz Pool display :-X I bet Pool fans r beginning to experience dat Deja Vu feeling all over again..... or is it Yesterday Once More :-\ On sunday, juz before my football game - 1 of my teamate showed us a Liverpool beach towel he juz purchased (i tink he forgotten about Pools previous day debacle), we all burst into laughter ;D
SiriuslyCold Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 you expect him to stop being a fan just because of one, two or three losses? how did he survive the 90's?
luq_skywalker Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I'm sure every team strives for perfection. The fact that Bolton had 2 shots only indicate that they hit Liverpool on the break. always hate it when opposing does that .. especially the likes of manu chelski .. used to have the sunken feeling but after 20 years of watching and 10+ years of waiting, i'm so used to it liao .. numb ! :-\
dude Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Slow starts are common for Liverpool. They have always been like that, even when Bob Paisley was in charge. It only goes to prove that to win the league you have to have consistency, and that's what will happen. There's too much quality in the side not to achieve consistency. The only problem is when. I can't begrudge Chelsea. They have the money and talent, so they are the target for many. Man U, much as I dislike them, did play very attractive football in the late-90s, just like how Arsenal do. Traditionally, Man U are also slow starters, but this time, they seem to be starting with their foot on the gas pedal...
ministryofMP3 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Words can't expressed my bitter disappointment - so I shall sing you all a song of deep despair & desperation ;D ;D ;D "Is this the real life, is this just fantasy Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see"
luq_skywalker Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Words can't expressed my bitter disappointment - so I shall sing you all a song of deep despair & desperation ;D ;D ;D "Is this the real life, is this just fantasy Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see" bro you should sing this instead ... Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone, You'll never, ever walk alone.. true fans will stick to the team even when they are down right .. or in our context, i guess down for more than a decade liao .. never up and win the EPL yet ..
ministryofMP3 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 true fans will stick to the team even when they are down right .. or in our context, i guess down for more than a decade liao .. never up and win the EPL yet .. Take heart, my song was just in jest in response to the doom & gloom. The away games lost this year were the tricky ones so let's not fret too much. Despite not winning the league, the trophy cabinet isn't exactly bare either - I believe it's some 10 trophies since Year 2000. So there's a lot to be happy about. In fact Liverpool are the only English team to win any European titles (notice the plural) this millennia ;D
luq_skywalker Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 i dare say that .. i would sacrifice any ONE EPL title for that one night in Galatasaray .. still give me the chills .. but bad for the heart .. :)
lewlian Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 i dare say that .. i would sacrifice any ONE EPL title for that one night in Galatasaray .. still give me the chills .. but bad for the heart .. :) hard one to trade off for me. well, there's another 30-odd games to go and it ain't over till the fat lady sings.
luq_skywalker Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 hard one to trade off for me. well, there's another 30-odd games to go and it ain't over till the fat lady sings. yeah, hardtrade off especially for us who have waited for more than a decade to see l'pool lifting the cup.. but i'd rather win a cup than come in 2nd .. I still feel that we are missing something in the team, we need a new wonderbra .. u remember the nickname they gave Hamann ? Xavi is definitely a good passer, but he is not as good a support for the defense :-\
luq_skywalker Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 the wonderbra is called Sissoko ;) that wonderbra not good enuff .. still loose ;D
SiriuslyCold Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 And a woman spoke, saying, "Tell us of Pain." And he said: Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain. And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy; And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields. And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief. Much of your pain is self-chosen. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity: For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen, And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears.
