armoury Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Apparently Arsenal fielded, for about half the Hamburg game, a World XI, i.e. 11 players from 11 countries:- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2006/09/15/sfnars15.xml :o Possibly a first in the Champions League, though the article says that in England, Fulham did it a while back. I will comment, though, that Fulham's XI included 3 UK players (Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland) and an Irishman, whilst Arsenal's is really 11 different countries. Ironically, before Hoyte came on as England's rep, there was no Englishman, and the country with the "biggest" contingent (of 2) was -- Ivory Coast.
