lewlian Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 conspiracy theorists says it is russian roubles from roman... if they can't have the players, don't let other good teams have them either. with all due respect to the hammers, you got to seriously ask the question of why these two players chose them over other teams.
Necrohavoc Posted September 1, 2006 Author Posted September 1, 2006 if they play and settle well in english weather and all .. I see big teams making a bid next season
armoury Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Dodgy, this. Doesn't pass the "stink" test. The speculation is that MSI, the company that owns Corinthians as well as “holds the rights” to the players, is part-owned by Roman. These two therefore go to West Ham to see if they can adapt to London and the Premiership, and if they work out come Jan or July 2007 they’ll finally move to Chelski. As an added bonus West Ham are in Europe, but not the ECL, so can’t embarrassingly hurt Chelski yet the players still get valuable Euro experience. Come on, objectively, which world-class star wants to move to West Ham? As the Guardian put it (excellent commentary by Kevin McCarra, go read it), the last time players with true World Cup-winning aspirations played for West Ham was when West Ham nurtured Bobby Moore…
SiriuslyCold Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 who wants to put money on Teves being 'injured' when the hammers play Chelski?
f_spider Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I can bet wif u ............... If there's a 50-50 ball , these 2 monkeys won't go all out to win them .... Coz i dun really think West Ham's wat they actually had in mind ,.......... They r probably scheming for a bigger team :P
scoobydoo Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 For more conspiracy theory, read this... http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2006/09/01/eyebrows_raised_at_deal_shroud.html
SiriuslyCold Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 to be honest Tevez doesn't look like he'd shrink out of a tackle with a brick wall - in fact may already have once or twice
armoury Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Straits Times today is reporting West Ham didn't pay any transfer fee at all (good deal!), but are contractually obliged to play both as long as they are fit, and if/when they are sold WHU don't get anything either -- which if you paid nothing in the first place, is no big deal really. Which really adds fuel to the speculation that they are merely being "parked" at WHU to acclimatize them to the Premiership and London, ahead of a big money move to moneybags Chelski...
Spunky Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 then perhaps their affair with WHU will not even go beyond Jan 07!! ;D still, it's a good deal even if it ;asts only 6 mths!
f_spider Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 And u think this move will help d West Ham team morale ??? No doubt these 2 players CAN b world class............. Its juz a question of WILL they be one , for West Ham :P
Spunky Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 And u think this move will help d West Ham team morale ??? No doubt these 2 players CAN b world class............. Its juz a question of WILL they be one , for West Ham :P still a relatively cheap gamble coz I remember reading their wage is about £1.5M and £1M, which is about £20-30k per wk. Some player get more than £100k just sitting on the treatment table, u know?! ;)
armoury Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 more about MSI The bum. From his blog:- I should say at this point, that I have know axe to grind with West Ham. They are a fine club with a proud tradition and are one of the 3 great London sides, along with Spurs and Watford, and good luck to them with their new signings. What does he mean, 3 great London sides beiing Wet Sham, Scum and Who? Bar-steward... ;D I mean, seriously, far and away the most successful London side is Arsenal, it's not even close. #2 is a toss-up between Spertz and Chelski, the Blues now having 3 titles to Spertz's 2 makes them marginally more successful in the most important competition (the league), although Spertz have a lot more Cups in their record. West Ham have a few cups but no titles. And Watford have never won anything at all.
