dude Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 What an interesting draw...looks like AC had the best luck... What are the chances of Chelsea and Man U meeting the team that put them out of last year's CL?
void1624705836 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 What a twist of fate....Chelsea with the same group as Barca ;D However i don't think Chelsea will be eliminated in the group stages. Werder Bremen & Levski Sofia would not give much of a fight. I do hope though they spring a surprise and we will see the 'Special One' fall flat on his face :o, Eliminated in group stages.... But i rather they go all the way to CL finals, comes in second and thus provide much distraction on the domestic league EPL and fumble on both fronts.... :-X
tidalstorm Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 good draw for chelsea cos most prob them and barca will advance to second rd. They will avoid each other in the knockout phase until the final (if they progress). Madrid and Lyon always kena each other.... Liverpool got a bit of a tricky tie to Gala and PSV... Hopefully, Rafa can sort out the formations... In Rafa I trust.....
armoury Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 AFAIK, clubs in the same group stage only avoid each other in the second round. Once they reach the quarter finals, the draw is "open" and anyone can get paired with anyone else, i.e. same group, or same country, are all possible. So Chelski could draw Barca for the q-finals again... BTW, "AC" means the same as "FC" in English, so referring to Milan as "AC" is the same as calling Liverpool "FC". Note that "Milan" is the English way of naming the city, which is also the name of the football club since it was founded by an Englishman, whereas the city in Italian is called "Milano".
lewlian Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 yeah, agree with "void" there. let chelski go all the way to detract them from the EPL proper. time for a change of scenery/colour/city at the top. ;D
