Hiya Fresh,

First welcome to Xp...

I am neither familiar with your Tv nor your set top box but you can connect rca cables(L & R)from your audio out on the back of your Sammy, to an aux or TV input of your HTIB( if it has it).

Then you are good to go til DPLogic, yea yea..

BTW what HTIB have you got?

Hi Dirtrun,

firstly, thanks for your advice...

My Samsung R7 have a audio monitor out (is this the one?), and i not sure my HTIB got aux or TV input. Btw my HTIB is quite a old model, it is pioneer HTZ-430DV.

Here's the website:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069657_2046350,00.html

And also need your kind advice on how to connect and what cables to use on how i can achieve best SQ and PQ out of these three gadgets (Samsung R7, pioneer HTIB HTZ-430DV an starhub digital box) i have.

Sorry if i ask too many questions...really a newbie here  ;)

Thank you so much... :)

I hv a pretty similar setup as yrs (SAMSUNG32R71, SCV and HTIB). I hv tried both manners of hooking up, HTIB audio IN and TV Audio OUT and method 2 is through the SCV digital setup box second set of red n white ports to the HTIB audio IN. Both methods achieve the same results. BUT I'm facing a tricky situation, although there's sound coming out inregardless of which method, the left and right sound is totally unbalanced. UNBALANCED as to, the right sided speaker is 4 times louder than the left speaker....hmmmm..will troubleshoot once i can spare the time to do it. But honestly i'm contented bec if I chose a certain mode of sound (ONE N ONLY), it delivers an output of sound through all the 5 speakers but if i select it as natural or live or 3D Surround, ONLY the front speakers would project sound output. Sounds funny......nonetheless I'm going to troubleshoot the left and right balancing matter tomorrow.btw the HTIB is Toshisba...cant remember model but its the one n only selling in the market from wat i hv noticed.

one side is louder than the other by 4x? Does this happen on both methods u had tried?

btw the audio cable..is it the one with two plug (red and white)?

Since both methods work... IMO, i think by connecting from scv box to the HTIB should be better one as this is a direct connection rather than go thru the tv.... (Just my tots) :)

wat do you think... :D

Hi,

Your link is not working so can't look up the specs on your HTIB, but you should have at least one aux input.

Whichever way is fine. Tv Out will follow what you are watching on the screen, the other way the same too I guess.

Most people here like Beldens as interconnect or Canare, you can check out LHS in Sim Lim or you can use the one provided free by the manu - still got sound.

yup one side louder than the other 4x...well weird but will troubleshoot tomorrow. YES both methods also same results. YES red and white. Thinking of using the yellow too bec i think the red is right and white is left therefore would swap the white with the yellow (experts, correct me if I'm wrong on this). its those cheapo composite av cables.

Yup. i think so too but was jus testing it through the tv out to see whether there's any difference in the right and left balance output.
