This price must be for 42PC3RV. Harvey Norman is selling at 2.8k. The 42PC1R is selling at 3.6k.

whats the main differents between 42PC3RV and 42PC1R?

Resolution.

PC3RV is 852 x 480 while PC1R is 1024 x 768.

I'm using the predecessor of PC3RV. TV program from SCV analog box is quite good actually, but somehow using component input I still have problem with slight bleeding of red color. Probably I still haven't found the right setup.

Yes 852 x 480. DVD quality is good generally just that a bit color smearing occurs (notably red) but probably I just haven't get the right setup, coz no such smearing occurs when using antenna input from SCV box. I don't watch so close to the screen anyway so higher resolution is not going to benefit me.

u mean if u watch from far, there's not much differents compare the higher resolution to the lower 1? so currently what is your viewing distance?

My seating position varies around 3-5m. At 2m or so I still can see the pixel grid but farther than that, everything look sharp and clean. When shopping, you better bring your familiar DVD to try and view from your normal viewing distance then determine whether lower resolution is good enough or not. One more thing, LG plasmas seem to have lower power consumption compared to other brands, at least based on their specs.

Here's excerpt from the following website:

1. DVD and standard TV will look basically the same on both.

2. EDTVs plasmas generally have better black-level performance and higher contrast ratios, which lead to better-looking dark scenes.

3. HDTV plasmas will look significantly more detailed with HDTV and computer sources, even though they don't show every pixel.

4. HDTV plasmas have smaller pixels, allowing you to sit closer without discerning the pixel grid.
