evo171 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 I hope Sharp would be bringing in the LC-37BE1W which has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 as well as 1 HDMI and DVI-I connection. http://www.sharp.co.jp/aquos/lineup/be1/index.html?name=37be1 I can't make out the rest as it is in jap...
kentgh Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Japan is selling this model for 245100Yen which is approx S$3400 :o If it's available in Singapore then the price is gonna be a steal for this kind of specs. 1920x1080, 6ms, HDMI, DVI... http://kakaku.com/prdsearch/detailspec.asp?PrdKey=20415010432 The only 'drawback' is that it is only 1080i :( The 45" model is approx S$4500.

varun1624705824 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Hey!! Brothers, I was thinking of getting the 37" AX series nxt week (pay day) but looking at the Is the AX-series the one they call "PAL optimized"? If so, see this month's What HiFi before you buy - they've shredded the 37", giving it 2 stars out of 5 !! Best, - V.

That's the AF series which Sharp has been desperately trying to offload by throwing in NTUC vouchers during the promo a while back. For those who have been following Sharp's pricing strategy, good luck in thinking that Sharp will bring down their prices for the 45" to below the 5k mark. Worse still, they will somehow saddle us with DVI models coupled with SCART inputs instead of the common HDMI and Component inputs. Just look at the current 45" and 65" models as a testament of how out of touch they are with the market.
lchang Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Was woundering if the Sharp/Roxy in Spore is the actual Sharp or just a Joint Venture between a local firm. Besides, the AX series has 1 HDMI and no computer input, but looking at pic comparision at Best Denki the Sharp does have the best pic quality (HD signal demo at Best Denki). Anybody have other recommandations ? Much apperciated !!! No lah.. That's the AF series which Sharp has been desperately trying to offload by throwing in NTUC vouchers during the promo a while back. Recall hearing from several Promoters that unlike the earlier G series, most of the parts for the AX series are actually manufactured in Thailand before it is assembled together with the panel in Japan. Not sure how true this is although I won't be surprised if it is so.
varun1624705824 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Anybody have other recommandations ? Any other recommendations? Of course. Depends on your budget. The Sony Bravia V40". About 4700 at Best etc., probably about 4100 or thereabouts at Parisilk. - V.
lchang Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Parts from Thailand is better than parts from Malaysia, Pioneer 686 has got better parts than those from Malaysia. Pioneer 686 is the preferred mod player than those from Mal. So JeffOng, should we get XP brother to pressure Sharp Spore for better LCD models? I am definatly for it !!!! Thanls!!
lchang Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 What is the point of Sony = Samsung, 1366 x 768, HDMI x01, No PC input. http://www.sonystyle.com.sg/sonystyle/jsp/bigproduct/bigproductdisplay.jsp?Level1=26948&Level2=2045&Level3=4209&MaterialNumber=17499400 Sigh!!!!
