louco73 Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 To get a penalty awarded for a player running over another player who made no contact or had any intent to make contact with the attacking player is interesting to say the least. To have it in the last seconds of the game was a travesty for Australia. Anyway, Australia played well in all their games and showed the world that you can't take them for granted anymore. All that with soccer behind Rugby League, Rugby Union, AFL, Cricket and Swimming as national sports. Just imagine if Australia really got behind soccer! I wonder can FIFA order a replay for blatant F%^& ups? ;)

A tragedy for Australia - they might not get such a good chance to make the quarter-finals again for a long time. I thought Australia played really well even when Italy had their full team. Seems like everyone from the English leagues plays well at the World Cup except the English!
