SiriuslyCold Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 how did Graham Poll get 6.0... must have been a lot higher before that debacle
f_spider Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 @ least Shamsul never kelong ............ unlike some of d "shameless" refs :P
armoury Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Wah, Singapore on top, not bad! ;D Considering there's not hope of making Lau Goh's 2010 Goal, at least there's one thing Singapore is top for in world football, and in particular this World Cup. Can you imagine the hoopla if Shamsul gets to ref The Final? At least he doesn't have to worry about being sent home after the quarter-finals because of the "no ref from any of the 4 semi-finalists" rule ;D
Chowbotak Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Yeah if he officiates during the final, maybe we shd go airport welcome him back when he returns ;D
armoury Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Too bad, Shamsul isn't among the 12 refs retained for the quarter-finals and beyond. Notice how the local media hasn't reported it? I only noticed when I read an article on BBC saying Poll had been sent home, and there's a list of the 12 refs staying -- and Shamsul isn't on it. I guess it's because there's only one ref from Asia staying, and it's the Japanese guy (who as you can see on the list was ranked 3). Politically the Japan FA obviously has much more clout than our FAS, so no surprise there, really. Anyway, nice job Shamsul, you did us proud. Wish our players could live up to the standard you've set in refereeing!
dbchoong Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Reported in today's Today. Too bad not selected to officiate any of the knock-out games....
