Miraphone Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Hi all, Has anybody tried those class D amplifier using the Hypex UCD180AD or UCD700 module? Saw it on many website, wondiering anyone has used one of them. Thanks, Aviator In Singapore, effective audio is carrying the hypex modules and building it into complete amps for people. www.effectiveaudiomod.com Their hypex amp service thread : http://www.effectiveaudiomod.com/index_services.htm Personnel I have heard my friend's integrated amp built by Effective Audio and it is really impressive. It replaces a flying mole monoblock amp combo for my friend. I am tempted to get it too and the price is very attractive, particularly the UCD400, which is like less than 1/2 price as compared to the CIA D200 monoblocks. Any users can give comments for our reference too?
bolts1624705732 Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Just came back from Bangkok yesterday and I had a chance to listen to a setup at third level of Fortune Center IT Mall. There are some hi-fi dealers there. One setup was Pioneer player -> Primaluna Prologue 3 pre-amplifer -> Mcintosh power blocks -> horn speakers (I didn't check what brand, they looked like they were hand-built). All I can say is that vocals on my own budget setup actually sounded smoother than that dealer's setup.... ;D The thing going for the Primaluna/Mcintosh amps was more details. Soundstage wise, it was same as the Hypex amp. For the price of a hypex amp, the value it presents is quite amazing.
