For those add-on card for hard disk drive - PATA , is there any way to check what is the maximum capacity of the hard disk that the card support ? Because I had two 160 Gb Hitachi/IBM harddisk connected through the add-on card and always have read/write error after using for a few weeks.

Some old PATA cards supported only until 120GB

Strange is that now when I transferring out all the data files from this 160 gb harddisk to my new 250 gb external harddisk , no read/write error message ...so what does this mean ?

 

The read/write error always happen either adding new files or transferring old files out within the internal desktop connection.
