magiclamp Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Hi, I understand that a LCD tv with 1920x1080 resoluton will be able to display 1080p and I saw Sharp 45' LCD, Amoi 37' and Benq 37' has such high resolution specs. Recently, I heard panasonic plasma with 1080p digital processing chip-set and 1080p digital re-mastering processor but of a resolution of 1024x768 is able to display 1080p. Is this true? Any recommendation for a 1080p LCD or plasma tv? Or should I wait for the incoming new Benq 42' LCD that comes with HDMI inputs? Thanks. :)
darthmax Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Toshiba 47wl66e 1920x1080 worth that a look...TV channel program surprisingly looks good! SRP S$7599.
magiclamp Posted May 20, 2006 Author Posted May 20, 2006 Thanks bro, where can I view it? NM. BD or courts? Any special branches that display it? Any views from owners of panasonic plasma with 1080p digital processing chip-set and 1080p digital re-mastering processor? :)
darthmax Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 The new Panasonic model still not native 1920x1080 resolution so for me I can not see anything special from previous model (the menu setup setting still simple as they are, lack of adjustment). :P Most of the BD have the Toshiba model on display, not sure abt HN and Courts.
doomgiver Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 that toshiba may have 1920x1080 buts 1080i not 1080p...
magiclamp Posted May 22, 2006 Author Posted May 22, 2006 I guess got to wait for TV capable of producting 1080p. Went to BD at Thomson Plaza and Hougang Festival Mart to view on panasonic TH-42PV60 and TH-42PA60. Wasnt so satisfied with these screens in terms of PQ (1080p), but in my opinion they surpass plasma brands like LG and Toshiba with 1024x768 resolution. Perhaps the technology will come soon as benq has released news on their new series of LCD TV that is capable of producing 1080p. http://www.benq.com.sg/News/News.cfm?NewsType=1&year=2006&id=1286 http://gear.ign.com/articles/678/678908p1.html But i hope their new VL and P series will not be disappointing as DV3750 to many people. :)
HT102 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Toshiba 47wl66e 1920x1080 worth that a look...TV channel program surprisingly looks good! SRP S$7599. Saw this Full HD LCD at an electronic store in United Square today.. I was very suprised that it is priced significantly below $7k.. without "free gifts" of coz. ;)
