Quest88 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 For questions on homeplug: - I'm living in condo. I put the server in living room, hooked through homepug to router in bedroom. Router connected to the various other devices. No problems here. No idea if separate phase or what not. Homeplug's supposed to work on single circult, up to 200m distance. - I'm using from power distribution strip at both ends now, and obtaining about 72mbps constant. No problems streaming video and flac files at the same time from server. May try out direct to the power supply and see if there is an increase in speed. I also have the same limitation of 1 power supply at my server's new location. Homeplug is easy to setup. All you need to do is plug the device into power supply, plug in ethernet cable and hook to your device. The software will detect all devices on your network, one of which will be set as the main. From there you can easily set privacy details and add specific devices (with password setting). The password is found at the back of the device so pls take note of it before plugging in. eh.. really OT already. Shall we move this homeplug discussion to another thread? desray can move the threads? ;D
