Hi bros.

I wonder why do bros here are considering stuff like MediaBox 100/200 and/or Snazio Net Cinema.

I doing research on buying a "link" between my PC (and its contents such as downloaded movies, MP3 etc) and my TV.

Seemed to be a modified Xbox with XboxMediaCenter can do much better ?

Can anyone advise.

Was using an XBMC before and yeah it worked fine for the most part

For me the MB100 makes sense for the following:

a. Deinterlacing capabilities (not all created equal)

b. HDMI/DVI output > component

c. Better videophile grade processing (blacker than black or whiter than white)

d. Better definition. XBox upscaling looks a lot softer than even VGA on MB100 on same projector

One more reason to add on would be the ability to do HD playback on the Snazio's and the PixelMagic which the Xbox don't have the processing power to handle.  Too bad the xbox360 is just too damm proprietary and cumbersome to be considered as a replacement for XBMC.

Actually the X360 works pretty well as a Media Center extender to an existing Media Center PC. But like with all Media Centers, no official support for DIVX/XVID, but there are third party workarounds.

The X360 HDDVD also looks like an interesting solution :)

First of all...XMBC only worked on 'modified' chip...currently no official word or release of a modified chip in the market for X-BOX 360 console yet...but currently its in the developmental and testing stage if you follow the X-Box scene website closely.

Like what Doggie mentioned, there are 3rd party programs such as TRANSCODE 360 or even VLAN-360 to play DivX or XVid clips...but both these s/w only encode and deode the existing avi/mpg or any other commonly used vodeo codecs into wmv format on the fly...and you require a good Router or Network speed to perform such streaming...the latter's performance binds closely with your exisiting network strengths and capabilities.
