dbchoong Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 If found guilty of involvement in match-fixing - even attempting to influence results - Juve could be stripped of their last two titles and demoted to Serie B. :o
armoury Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I wonder what Mr P. Vieira would make of it all, especially considering his old buddy Mr T. Henry is captaining an ECL finalist in two days...
SiriuslyCold Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 he could ask a certain mr Owen how that feels...
scoobydoo Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Ya hor.. Vieira could be playing in Serie B with no medals whatsoever, probably after moving to Juve in hope of winning more medals :o But they should win the Serie B title easily la... ;D
dbchoong Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 But they should win the Serie B title easily la... ;D If they are demoted, I'm very sure many of their top players will leave the team. What will be left will be the "lesser" players. So, winning Serie B might not be as easy as you think. ;D
armoury Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 he could ask a certain mr Owen how that feels... Well, Mr Owen's Real Madrid didn't face relegation... Ironically, I think Juve are one of the very few European clubs who have NEVER been relegated from their top flight, and indeed have played in the top flight of their league ever since the league's inception. Relegation would be a "first" in more ways than one. I don't follow Italian footy that closely, but I do get the impression that most promoted clubs go straight back down (Chievo being a recent exception, that now seems to qualify for the UEFA Cup regularly too). That suggests to me the gulf between "A" and "B" is pretty big, much like Premiership v. Championship. So even if Juve lose some stars, they should retain enough quality to get back at the first attempt.
Necrohavoc Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 if they are indeed guilty ..i hope the guilty parties do get severe punishment to deter anyone from trying to influence the game.. imo Juventus should relinquish its titles but shouldn't be relegated ..
f_spider Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Juve so strong , why need to resort to diz ??? Wah sounded so KIASU, maybe SINGAPORE bookie involved too ;D
oliverlim Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 this is very bad news. I hate to think that soccer is like westling! All matches are already decided before kick off! But one of my friends has this kelong theory and he is almost correct when he predicts a kelong match. It happens very often too :p Oliver
