Hi all,

 

I own a Yamaha RXV740 AVR, along with a 29" TV and a dvd player. Would like to know how to program my amplifier's remote control so that it can control my TV and dvd player as well. Instead of having to juggle all 3 remotes everytime I need it.

 

Was told I need something call manufacturer's code of the TV and dvd player, could anyone advise where can I find this? Tks.

 

(Tried the net but not much useful info that can help me).

I don't have the 740, but the coding for major popular models are usually listed in the Back pages of the manual, have you checked that out?

 

There is another solution in universal remotes like Philips Pronto or Harmony but I guess that would mean more expenses.

 

As for me I live with having 4/5 remotes for everything in the room, hehehe :D, too lazy I guess...

Tks for your reply. Downloaded the manual from yamaha website and use the 'Learn' feature. It works...to a certain extend.  :P
