Just gotten the Sonos bundle in today :)

Setting up is simple and set it up in less than 10mins.

2 zones set up: 1 Living Rm and the other Media Room.

The Living Rm is linked up first and subsequently the Media Room

Controls different zones to play different music or can also choose to play same music.

Great!!

Subby, congrats on your new Sonos!! maybe one of these days we can get a listen eh. the player units are Tripath powered aren't they :)

Yap. I noticed that you have to ram up the volume quite high before you can really feel the bass.

Overall I am very impressed with Sonos.

Few things to take note:

1) I think you need to run your computer together. Once your comp is off, everything goes down. Therefore it would be good to have a dedicated server just for this.

2) A true NAS Harddisk server is required. Currently using Netgear SC101 and this is no good as the reference is always to your comp.

You wanna come over and take a look?

would love to one of these days! (hard when u have kids, weekends is her time)

Fully understandable. Weekends are for my 2 "monkeys". The only "free time" I have is during work or when they fall asleep (after 12:00)

If you want to, preferably weekdays, if you can.

yep, we all go thru the phases... children between 1-5, need almost 100% physical attention... i was introduce tis strategy... bring them downstair to play ground and let them worn themselves out... they will sleep earlier for the nite... so at least u got some time to yr self and spouse...

but good news is as they grow older, u get back your "free time"  eg now i can listen to my music, play guitar or read hifi mags.

the fear is tat they will stop communicating to me as dad, so i must keeps the lines open, eg when i do my things in the evening or weekends, i will tell the children tat i will keep my bedroom door close so as not to disturb their TV time, but i tell them so tat they know they can come into my room anytime..shd they need to talk to me.... ;)

Hiya,

Aiyo, introduce children them  to the goodness of exercise lo, they go playground, we go running round the park still can keep an eye on them, hehehe  :D

Once start school then diff story what with tuition and music and whatnot classes...the only time you see them is probably at bedtime.

My children love being read to, so that can be squeezed in as quality time...

Sighzz so much things to do so little time to do it...

Hi,

I do know that SC101 uses a special NAS driver that can only be ran from a Comp.

You would need a standalone UPnP or CIFS/SMB NAS. That means, Buffalo Linkstation, Synology 106e..etc.

I'm using SC101 too, but it definitely would not work with direct connection to SONOS.
