Guest Toma Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Hi, a newbie in getting a mini Hifi for music listening (music genre: pop, classic, almost anything) as well as doubling it as computer speakers. I was thinking of purchasing the Denon D-M33 and replaced the stock speakers with a pair of MS Genie 402 and the MS 409w subwoofer. The speakers will be mounted on the wall to free up space on my desk. Will this setup sound better than the stock speakers ? Or is there any other suggestions for satellite speakers ? Lol, last question how much would a pair of Genie speaker n subwoofer cost? Thanks a millions ;) Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated ? Cheers ;D
hifiluv Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 aren't the Denon speakers made by Mission? understand the previous model is by Mission, the later one (2005), Denon OEM themselves. which ever, why dont try to use stock speakers first. :)
f_spider Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Previous Model, DM-31 actually uses Mission Speakers.......... I had d honour to recommend a friend of mine of owning one......... SiriuslyCold Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 now playing around with it..... ;D sounds .. err... ominous! ;D ;D *roflmao* so anyway, I have the DM30 (wow 2 generations back) and in the UK they released with Mission speakers whereas the local set came with stock Denons. not too shabby although I liked it better with my little Paradigm Micro pair. Toma, i think using the stock speakers first is a good idea... then if you are unsatisfied with the sound you can start looking for options. Note that there's only about 25W per channel I think so you'll need sensitive ones to play loud (88db/w/m)
hifiluv Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 sounds .. err... ominous! ;D ;D *roflmao* wah dont be like tis leh... after thread will be rated for "Mature Audience Only"....LOL.... ;D
MC_Hammer Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 If u are a DIY person...the cheapest n the most effective way is to open up the speakers...change the internal speaker cables n capacitors inside

Guest Toma Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Thanks for all the replies man, think I will just stick with the stocks speakers for now, maybe will whack some 2nd hand speakers next time. Once again thanks for all the replies. :)
