Hi brother http://www.thailandtoday.com/bangkok/shopping/07_g01_rattanakosin.html google check shows the flwg locations - 1. Ban Mor Hifi at Phra Phiphit Road 2. Bon Mo Road 3. Old Siam Plaza, 3rd floor maybe a good check will be to ask Taxi drivers if these are correct. good luck and happy hifi shopping. :)
hifiluv Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 http://www.cardas.com/content.php?area=dealers&dealer_type_name=Cables&content_id=7&pagestring=Cables&cat=int list of shops selling apparently audio cables, may also be selling hifi stuff as well, got telephone numbers, can actually check them out before going down so not as to waste a trip. :)
Transworld Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Bangkok adelphi is at the latest shopping centre call Siam Paragon. Nearest BTS is Siam. The best shop to shop for DIY electronic parts is at Natthapong Sales & Service Co. Ltd, it is along Ban Mo street.

tploh Posted May 11, 2006 Author Posted May 11, 2006 :'( I broke my laptop monitor. Squeed too hard. And I can't see any of your replies, until now that I am home. Found Hi-Fi Centre ( next to Big-C, opposite of Isetan ) and bought some room treatment foams from a DIY store on 3rd floor. I know I have paid more than it should, but the cost ( $$$ and time ) of finding and going to the right place may be more. Maybe next time will check out the recommendations here. I was thinking of getting Rezet speaker stands which some were selling in Echoloft. Had a pair already. Very steady and so itchy to get another set. Patpong = tourist. will kena chop chop like what lovehifi said.
SiriuslyCold Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 funny story about Patpong... back in 1982 when i was in university we made a study trip (to the Mahidol university in Bangkok, lah.. not Patpong!) so anyway after the second day finished we approached one of the students and asked him if he would take some of us to Patpong and he said "sure!' So he met up with us at the hotel and we piled (all 7 of us) into a tuk-tuk and went off. when we arrived and got off the tuk-tuk he took a hold of my hand somewhat nervously - I said "what??" he said "I've never been here myself!!!"

SunRay Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 First go to Hifi center, it located next to Big C supermarket. Opposite the Central World Plazza. This tower is similar to Aldephi 'cos all shops are HiFi shops. (Mark Levinson, NAD, B&W, Accuphase, Sonus, Marrantz, Denon). However, there are few shops that still remian at the Amarin Plazza esp. if you look for Krell, Spendor, Quad, Premaire. Martin logan. This building is near by Grand Hyatt Hotel. Just behind the hotel. Hope this help.

sonofdbn Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 In the vain hope that some people might still be interested in the original thread title...and while we wait for siriuslycold to tell us what happened after he started holding hands with some guy in Patpong... :) Here's a thread from sgheadphones.net on a cheap price for Beyer DT 990 headphones in Bangkok. There's an address about half-way down the page.
