kevkie Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hi All, For the room that I will be placing the TV at, space is not really a concern. I am looking at my options from buying a super slim 32" CRT from LG or Samsung as compared to a 26" LCD for the same price from a not so "branded" brand. Are my numbers right? ??? Are there any limitations on the CRTs as compared to LCDs? I dont think that I would need to use the LCD as a monitor for my laptop nor would I be saving movies in memory cards either, so would the CRT be a better choice? What about HD ready and all that? DVD playback, any limitations?
cheesydog Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Well it really depends on the CRT. All things being equal CRT is better tech than LCD, ie better picture, contrast, and refresh. HOWEVER you have to check what resolution the CRT will go up to ie SD, ED or HD If you want to watch HD in the future you will have to make sure the CRT will output to at least 720p The advantages of the LCD are of course space saving, tho u said thats not an issue. And personally they just look much nicer than a big ol boxy CRT! There really are no limitation for CRT, just make sure that it will putput to HD resolutions Hope this helps
