I'm thinking of getting the Oppo player, plus Orb speakers, Logitec HM360 remote, etc..... ;D Just wanted to check, would it cost me a bomb to carry it back via SIA ? with the extra baggage cost or would it be more cost effective to ship it via vPost ???

Long ago I carried so many things without getting overweight charge.

Oh sorry, checked & the free shipping is no longer available. Anyway, to give u a guide, I ordered on 24 April for delivery to Pennsylvania (a fren's place) choosing the slowest shipping option. Estimated delivery date was May 3-4 but packaged was delivered on 27 April. Btw, amazon shipping weight for this player is 9 pounds, abt 4kg.

I actually didn't risk it and paid $600 for FedEx to take it back for me....the good thing was, it arrived in Singapore earlier than me...:) Shopping in the States is OK only if you know the location well....3 days in a new city would be quite a chore to do any good shopping. Keep to the 70lb limit per bag..2 check-in bags and you know your luggage already considered as one bag, unless you really travel light and dump all your cloths into a carry-on. Vpost is OK but expect a 2 week delivery period. If you got a Elite Gold membership, no worries...one more bag allowed... :) (Audio)
kentgh Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 If you want to get the Oppo player from Amazon & ship by vPost, during ordering tell Amazon to ship the product by its original package/box. If not Amazon will re-package the product into a bigger box by Amazon. This will incurr more shipping charges by vPost. vPost will not remove the Amazon box. I got the player from Amazon and was charged S$90+ by vPost for the shipping. If ship by original packaging then the shipping cost should only be S$30+. Expensive lesson for me :(
