leonjeon Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I may be the only one who does not know this... But can someone tell me if SIN CITY is banned in Singapore? I;ve been trying to get the DVD, but heard that it is banned? What's wrong with this movie?
Guest ottimo Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Supprisingly, it's "passed without cut". http://www.mda.gov.sg/wms.www/resources_result.aspx?search=sin%20city&actor=&producer=&rating=&language=&decision=

Nothing seems to say about the DVD version. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Does anyone remember seeing it at local cinemas sometime last year? I also dont remember seeing it in a VCD version in shops before.
InnocentBlood Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 the film was rated R21 when it was shown here right? that would mean it would not get a local release nor would the R1 version be allowed to be sold locally.

Gosh! That's a shame. I'll miss Jessica Alba's seduction scene. But really, I don't see any reason why this movie is banned?!!!! It's just a Frank Miller comic!
InnocentBlood Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 i think it was rated R21 due to the sex and violence. it's better to get this online.
xiao_vin Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I'll miss Jessica Alba's seduction scene. is there any? i thought only Jaime King

It's just a Frank Miller comic! Strangely, I cannot recall a Jessica Alba seduction scene...you mean the one where she was swing thye lasso...that's why she was performing on the "stage". Nothing special lah. OK, this show is REALLY violent....bloodly....very strong material. My wife walk out midway into the movie..... But for me, I kind of enjoyed it. PQ is excellent......hey, what you expect, there's a Tarentino element in the movie!! (Audio)
redryder Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 The irony is that the comic is also full of nudity, but it is openly displayed on shelves in our public library for any kid to borrow. I know because I just borrowed it myself after watching the movie on tues night. The comic is better. ;D

adeng Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 it was shown on TVB in HOng Kong in March.. first time on (free-to-air) TV in the world... on tv ah... if all violent and sex scences removed, there's nothing much left in the movie...
R6_Expert Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 on tv ah... if all violent and sex scences removed, there's nothing much left in the movie... only slightly trimmed.. maybe only 1 to 2 min less than original version.
