sas_aaron Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 1) I tried the calibration settings from ProjectorCentral , and the calibration setting looks too reddish. 2) I tried the following DVI calibration settings(from Unofficial 4805 FAQ) for my COMPONENT connection: RED Gain 58 GREEN Gain 58 BLUE Gain 58 RED Offset 29 GREEN Offset 29 BLUE Offset 29 And after that, i set the constrast and brightness according to THX Optimizer to balance the overall picture. RESULT: The picture is nicer and natural, especially in skin tones and sceneries. but i still feel the picture is abit dark. i heard that DVI and component settings are very different, which does not have optimum result for Component connection if using DVI setting. Can anyone provide the Gain and Offset of each color for Component? i would appreciate your kind help... thanks in advance!
terry1624705816 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 ....... the changes made to color balance were as follows: ....... red gain, 54 green gain, 48 blue gain, 53 red offset, 52 green offset, 48 blue offset, 50 http://www.projectorcentral.com/infocus_screenplay_4805.htm. strictly speaking this is just a guide. actually this is quite an old projector and much has been talked about it. so if you do a search in this forum, you may find a lot of help for this projector.
sas_aaron Posted April 16, 2006 Author Posted April 16, 2006 actually i tried the above setting, and the overall PQ feels oversaturated with reds. this is very obvious in Star Wars V: Empire Strikes Back where the sky looks reddish. :o i tried the AVS-recommended DVI setting: 58 Gain, 29 Offset. Picture now have more punch and nicer contrast(more 3d) , mostly the picture looks more balance and almost there. ;D just abit little dark and saturated, so IMO can be improved. hehe if any bro can provide the component setting, i will greatly appreciate it. ;)
