HT102 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Based on the reports from other forums (refer to links below), Denon is expected to launch a slew of Realta-based (or variants of it) DVD players in Summer. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=7466271&post7466271 http://www.hometheaterspot.com/htsthreads/showflat.php/Cat/7/Number/789382/an/0/page/0#Post789382 Extract: ---------- Denon will have the following models coming out sometime this summer: DVD1730 - $169 DVD1930ci - $349 DVD2930ci - $849 DVD3930ci - $1499 All have upscaling via HDMI. The 2930 and 3930 will be using the Silicon Optix Realta T2 chip.
muscular27 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 By then (September), I'd rather use the dough for blu ray. And only 2930 & 3930 is using realta chip.
HT102 Posted April 12, 2006 Author Posted April 12, 2006 By then (September), I'd rather use the dough for blu ray. True.. should spend $$$ on a HD-DVD/Blu-ray player or a good video processor... ;D In fact, now is good time to buy stuff from US as the USD-SGD exchange rate is at a record low level.
c7221624705751 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 wow this is exactly what I had secretly hoped: HQV becomes mainstream... Let's get Samsung on it and then we will see HQV logo everywhere. It's like Faroudja all over again (remember 5 yrs ago Faroudja is "state-of-the-art" ? )
c7221624705751 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Yea really gd news. If it really comes out before Sep, I'm sure it will storm the market. With all the expectation of HQV and now at new low price, every one will be grabbing the 2930/3930. SG price is always better for Denons, we are lucky. hmm how come nothing "revolutionary" happening at the projector end ? Why a 3 chip DLP has to be > US$10k ?
c7221624705751 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 By the time when 3chipper DLP 720p retails for <10K , will you buy ????????? ::) If it's at the ruby level, yes ! Bro , think you have break your record on holding a pj that long ,heheheh. ;) yea lor... I over-estimated the development of 3chips ... :( btw now u get ur 60Hz HDMI issue solved with the Vantage, how does it go pairing with the pio989 ? On par with the A1XV or not ?
Audio Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 By then (September), I'd rather use the dough for blu ray. And only 2930 & 3930 is using realta chip. What are you talking about, my friend?? :) You already bought the Top of the line, flagship, Realta 5910.....all these models to you are like.....chicken feet.... :) (Audio)

htfreak Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 At the price of a 3930, I will also rather go the Blu-Ray route since these are coming in at $999 only. The 1080p signal should blow away whatever upscaled 480p image you're gonna get. Who knows by Sep, Denon may also release a Blu-Ray player with the HQV chip. In the meantime, now comtemplating whether to get a friend to bring back the Toshiba HD-A1 while he is in the States next week.
eggz Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Sure or not. By that time we will be comparing to something else ;D As usual , pic from 989+vantage combo becomes cleaner, sharper and etc since it is pixel mapping to my pj . Either one will never go wrong . I upgraded the A1XV to 1080p and it did improve on 720p out too ;) . Both you may not like it since you are looking for perfect deinterlacing, scaling, display and etc .....And you can wait ,hehehe ;D Jason, the HQV is better than the Gennum in your S4?
