up or down scaling better for LCDTV from DVD player?

my LCD TV has a native 800x600

my DVD player can output only 480p,720p and 1080i

 

so no matter how a re scaling will need to be done

what u guys thing? ???

how come there is a very light thin yellow line ?

ONLY when i play any letter box movies
