Got myself a Sharp 32" G Series LCD and have some questions regarding the DVI-I interface. Can we use a DVI-HDMI converter and connect a HDMI DVD player to the LCD TV. Does it still allows 720p, 1080i signal thru this DVI interface? Since DVI doesnt carry audio signal, how do we send the audio signal to the TV, other than connecting the audio outputs on the DVD player to a receiver?

Any comment is very much appreciated...

From what I know, you can buy a DVI-HDMI adaptor to connect to HDMI DVD player but the sound you may need to use composite (Red+white) or optical cable instead since DVI don't carry sound input.

Got it to work finally...Using a HDMI-DVI converter, I can connect a HDMI DVD player to the Sharp LCD TV DVI-I interface and upscale to 1080i. However, there is no audio. Beside the DVI interface in the Tuner box, there is a 3.5mm jack. So in order to pass audio signal from the DVD player to the LCD TV when connecting thru DVI, need to purchase a 2RCA-3.5mm jack cable... of course, to save all the trouble, we can always pass the audio signal to a receiver instead of the TV.

Surprisingly the TV broadcast appear much better than what i expected when viewing on a LCD TV. Got myself a 7731 belden cable..  Personally I think its on par with my previous CRT TV or if not... better. No exaggerating.
