moviefiend Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 FYI. Just received an email from Video Ezy informing me that they have changed my previous rental plan to their new Unlimited Rentals for $29.90. I now save $5.00 from my monthly limited subscription. Guess now they are the cheapest online DVD rental service. Hooray.
kaydee6 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 How's Videoezy service quality? Do they have a good selection and availability of latest titles? I'm now using Hollywoodclicks and thinking of changing to either Videoezy or Homepal.
iuhne Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Had a bad experience with HomePal recently. Did not receive 2 DVDs, which they claimed were despatched to me, and were asked to pay $30 for the lost DVDs.
HT102 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I would still prefer Gramophone.. where I can find a wide range of R1 movies + TV boxsets.. all at the cost of $30 a month. Some conditions do apply such as max 3 discs out and new releases can only borrow for max 3 days. The only drawback is no on-line or delivery service.. not convenient if you don't live or work near the outlets.
iuhne Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Agree with you. Terminated my HomePal subscription and going to subscribe to Gramaphone soon. I'm now using Hollywoodclicks and thinking of changing to either Videoezy or Homepal. The Video Ezy Online service has been very good so far, I have no issue with their service, title selection, and deliveries. I was previously with HC and I was rather unhappy in the time frame to receive new releases in my queue after the free trial period. I am even happier now with Video Ezy after they have dropped their subscription price.

I think the lack of online and delivery service plus the fact that there is no Gramophone stores around me (home or work) gives me no incentive to switch. The regional coding of content makes no difference to me and would not cause me to switch. I happy to visit my Video Ezy @ Jelita or use their online service.
Guest engmuism Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 homepal ok lah...still cheapest..27.95 but seldom r1 titles..does video carry r1 titles??
f_spider Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 A group of friends told me d Gramaphone @ Centrept sucks....... I tink they mention something about d manager there - so cheena , unfriendly, pasar malam liked :P Not customer friendly - i came to understand dat all d shops r exclusive, u can't borrow & return @ any other outlets , is it true? If so , i tot customer convenience comes 1st, so high nose attitude , sounds like d easy way out of doing business....... :-\ Its easy to sell music cds , but when it comes to dvd rental - thats where a bit of patience & service standards can b judged 8)
Quest88 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I used to be with Gramophone. To what I understand, its the cheapest! Sign for 3 months and its only $75. And with Citibank card, I think you get 1 month free for every month subscribed. Never face any problem about the manager at Centrepoint. That's the outlet I go to cos I pass by it on my MRT track home. Just exit mrt for a quick stop.
