Norman_Chan Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Too long no go window shopping , anyone had any ideas is the new Monitor Audio - Gold Signature series which replace the Gold References had landed here ?
fabryuk Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Norman The MA GS series are here. Very good price also. Auditioned the GS20. You will not be disappointed. Also, plse ask them to change to solid state amp (it sounds like a piece of cloth in front of u with tube amp)
Norman_Chan Posted April 22, 2006 Author Posted April 22, 2006 How much is the GS 10 and GS 20 ? Thanks in advance for answering ...
fabryuk Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 GS20 is 2980 + 5% GST- their introductory price for new model The centre LCR only 980 + 5% GST GS10- I think is 1k less- not sure
Norman_Chan Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 Wah ! If the GS 10 is S$1k less than maybe can go audition ;D because the GR 10 was selling S$1.6k
2100 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Wah ! If the GS 10 is S$1k less than maybe can go audition ;D because the GR 10 was selling S$1.6k I thought GR10 was selling at about 1.4k then? Anyway, even then it's a bit too expensive. It's a good speaker no doubt after i heard it, but would go for Jmlab range, price-for-price. One thing i don't like is that a knuckle test tells me the cabinet is not dead enough, for the price. All IMO of course. :) The Cayins are real good for the price (esp A-50T and A-88T), seriously. Maybe due to the toobs used. My Cayins suck with the stock tubes, after changing its woah.
Norman_Chan Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 Went to have a listen to the GS 10 and GS 20 than RS 6 again. The GS 10 is selling about S$1680 + 5% GST , the GS 20 as per earlier posted price and the RS 6 is selling about S$1280 (I think...) Still remebered did listen to the S6 and RS6 before bought the RS1. During that time felt that RS6 was one of the best and maybe slightly loose out to the GR10 but did not listen to the GR20. For the RS6 , the bass was quite good and the vocal playback was clear and define ... Than now came the GS10 and GS20 , after listening both are very smooth and soothing to the ear , just can closed your eyes and fully enjoy the music and songs during the demo. Found the the GS10 is much better than the GR10 and the GS20 bass was quite solid. Than re-listen to the RS6 , WOW ! after listen to the smoothness audio of the GS10 and GS20 , all of a sudden found that the RS6 audio sound hash and too sharp for the ear ! Again the final setup equipments/sources also play a very important part that can make the GS 10 and GS 20 shine.
