wwyjoe Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 My favourite Lisa Ono's Dans Mon Ile http://www.lisaono.homestead.com/discography.html
ical Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 My favourite which some are in English: 1. Mind Games Plays The Music of Stan Getz & Astrud Gilberto - Lisa Wahlandt & Mulo Francel 2. Soul Bossa - Myrra 3. "Bossanova" - Mary L 4. Tanto Tempo - Bebel Gilberto 5. Dans Mon Ile - Lisa Ono 6. Late Night Moods Bossa Lounge (2 discs, vocals and instrumental. Cheap and good)
Desperado Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 For starters, this might be a good one: - Audiophile Bossa Voices (Various Artists) - by Premium Recording As you acquire the taste of Bossanova, here are some artists for your consideration - Astrud Gilberto - Stan Getz - Joao Gilberto - Charlie Byrd - Antonio Jobim Recommended albums from above artists: - Getz/Gilberto - Collaboration btwn Getz, Gilberto and Jobim. The Girl from Ipanema was sung for the first time by Astrud and made her a star. - Jazz Samba - Collaboration between Getz and Byrd.
Victor Chan Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 highly recommend Astrud Gilberto's "Jazz around Midnight" album. It contains most of the notable bossanova jazz stuff in which other artists started to make covers of. This album features Stan Getz and Antonio Carlos Jobim as well.
