JayLopez Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I was in Adelphi 4th floor and happen to listen this icute class AB (as claimed by the shop) and was amazed on it. He then plug-in the DR AMP (digital) I can really tell the difference. However, I was wondering if the icute DAC plays apart. Anybody listen to this icute? The product line has power supply, headphone amp, DAC, Tube preamp and class AB amp. It's made in Taiwan. Any comments?

It has a pretty warm sound. There is another product call Fubar II which is suitable for PC. Uses USB. I've the iCute. There are 2 versions. AB version and a full Class A version (Beyond). You need to specify. Price the same. There is an interesting aspect. Both my friend and I experimented with different Op-Amps. Provided is OPA2227. Pretty good already. Wait till you listen to the AD8066. With a few bucks (in fact $8 for Opamp and some bucks for the convertor board), you will upgrade your iCute to an impressive setup. (You can upgrade your opamp easily. They provide a small key for you to open your Headphone amp) Pair it with Grados, heaven. Another few note. There is an accessory Supplier. Looks the same as iCute. It cleans up the power source and is compatible SpitFire and almost all Firestone products. This clean out the audio signal tremendously. iCute Headphone amp is suitable for MP3 players as well as your setup at home. It can drive 600ohm headphone (Sennheiser HD600/650 or AKG K24) effortlessly. After experimenting with a few things. I realize I've just setup a full Audiophile HiFi in office!!! (using Headphones I mean). I was so happy with it. The webby for info http://www.firestone-audio.com BTW, I'm not related to the shop. I am just one satisfied customer. And the love to mod it. If you need info, let me know. Especially modding part. Rgds
