I certainly hope not, or I'm going to be really tired and grumpy at work tomorrow after watching the game! ;)

It would be nice to survive even just one more round than Chelsea!

So now I'm tired and grumpy :(.

Same story all year really. Beautiful play from midfield and total failure to put it in the back of the net.

Fair play to Benfica - they played well over two legs and defended well, had that bit of luck to keep some of the deflections out. We were great at approach play - some of it was sublime - but our forwards (what forwards) couldn't match it.

even when we lose, nights like this make me proud to be a Liverpool fan. If it wasn't the team winning, the Kop embodied the spirit tonight singing YNWA well before the final whistle and applauding Benfica off the pitch.

We'll regain our form (my kingdom for a few strikers) one day, hopefully sooner than it looks like

I just realised after watching the post match reviews from Skysports...

From Jan till now , of the 4 strikers in Liverpool; Fowler is the one who managed to put the ball into the net the most (3 times) But all were ruled offside or ball was out of play (this morning game).. in term of real scoring wil be Peter Crouch with the goal against MU in the FA Cup.

Pretty amazing.

Agree 100% there with you SC. Class act. Something money just can't buy esp after Roman experienced it first hand during last yr's 2nd leg semi.

gotta love some of the postings on bigsoccer.com (mind you bigsoccer can be full of sh!t postings and trolls, like some who thought Simao's amazing goal was Reina's fault...)

"Props to the Kop for a thunderous standing ovation for the Benefica players." - Charlton fan

"You guys have have the most amazing fans I've ever seen at this high of a level of football, that's all I have to say, good luck in the FA Cup." - Portugal fan

"After this game, I'm convinced about Pool fans being the best in the world." - Boavista fan

"... once again I have to state without out question the best fans are Liverpool fans. Most teams people would just up and walk out with 10 minutes to go but in Anfield what I saw (heard) was pure loyalty and love." - Braga & Portugal fan

"I was actually expecting to come here and read a bunch of excuses and BS like when we won Man United, but Liverpool fans have shown great class" - Benfica fan

"Liverpool fans are one the most classy fans I ever seen. Down 3-0 and they were chanting for the team. WOW. In Portugal fans would have walked right after the first goal." - benfica fan

then someone had to post this pic *LOL*

You'll never walk alone, Liverpool, and soon we will regain the trophy and walk with the trophy......

Only 22 yrs young eh? Good on you since it has been probably a frustrating 16yr barren spell without the league title and you persisted. Cheers.
