limestone Posted March 5, 2006 Author Posted March 5, 2006 History: After the poisonous session of the previous MO done by Bhuv, I told myself I wanted to get a SVS… but wife wouldn’t allow.. *sob* :'( After awhile, I finally managed to get her OK to get a sub, on condition that it’s the discounted price, and not the retail price, so I’ve decided to organize another MO for SVS subs, for my benefit, and for everyone else who is as discount-seeking as me.. hehe.. Relevant History: I have corresponded with Erik at SVS, and he has graciously allowed ONE MORE M.O. for SVS subs, subject to the same group buy terms as the Jan 2006 MO. (discounts the same, no cylinders policy-the same, savings on shipping-the same) I would not dare to comment on why SVS would allow another MO after the January one, less I jeopardize this M.O. :P I don’t ask much questions, so long as we can all get discounts again on SVS subs right? :P I consider this as my effort to thank Xtremeplace forummers for all the help rendered to me in the past year in my HT learning, and I wish to return the favour in this manner. =) The More Relavant History: I have had several more email exchanges with Erik to iron out some administrative details, and also have devised out some small ideas to help make my life easier as the organiser of this M.O. So please refer to the section below on details, as well as terms and conditions of this M.O, so that we are all clear as to what to expect. (Do understand, this is my first time doing a M.O, so I hope everyone can co-operate with me as much as possible) So friends! Let’s take advantage of this (maybe last?) M.O. and get the sub of our dreams… *drooling* So, let’s get it moving!! I declare the March SVS M.O officially open! (6 March 2006) Note: Many thanks to Bhuv and hplanet on their valuable advice in their previous experience. ---------------------------------------------- The Most Relevant Information (Terms of M.O.): 1. This M.O will get us a 10% discount off retail price as stated on the website. 2. Discount on shipping is a variable figure, based on the number of items that we are ordering in this M.O. In essence: the more the orders, the cheaper the shipping. (Last M.O was 37% savings on shipping per item, based on about 40 subs.) Shipping on individual items would be: PB10-ISD $195 PB12-Plus $235 PB12-Plus/2 $265 Keep in mind that shipping on the items as individual pieces will be much more than in a group buy. I can’t give you an exact shipping cost on each in the group buy until I learn the total pieces and weight but to give you an idea the shipping on all 3 of the above subs would be $560. - Erik (SVS) Limestone: That works out to about 20% discount on shipping rates, based on just 3 subs. I am looking at around 35-38% discount for this M.O. 3. All buyers will be getting a free T-shirt and a free cap per person, compliments of SVS! 4. We will need a minimum of 15 items (note: not buyers, and excluding accessories) to get the mass order going, so the closing date of this M.O will be announced (and the clock will start ticking) once we hit 15 items. 4. Shipping will be made to one location (my home in Bendeemer) in order to keep the shipping costs to a minimum, and buyers will have to provide their own transport to collect from my place. (Delivery service from my place to buyer’s place might be possible [via external paid service], but we’ll work on that later.) 5. Payment settling 1: 70% of your purchase price (inclusive 100% payment for accessories, excluding shipping) to be transferred to my UOB account upon closing of M.O, before the order is submitted to SVS. The remaining 30% plus shipping cost/GST/Misc to be transferred to my UOB account upon placement of order with SVS, once they issue a tracking number for shipping, before item-collection in my house. Extra payment in cash when collecting the items at my house might be necessary due to last minute changes in things like exchange rate off-set, etc. 6. Payment settling 2: I’ll be following several other previous M.O. payment strategies, where the deposit/rest of payment will be rounded up to the nearest cent according to your order number. For example, if you are number 12 in the M.O buyer’s list, and your deposit amount is $560.80, you will pay either $560.12 or $561.12, so that I can easily identify and track your payment in my bank account. (Please understand that this will help me tremendously in tracking your payments. SVS M.O orders can run up to 5-figure sums, and I really don’t want to make accounting mistakes when it comes to money.) 7. Please take note that final price will include financial components like exchange rate, credit card charges, shipping costs, GST. I will calculate all these factors based on the credit card company that I am using to make payments. ------------------------------------- Some more helpful information in the process: 1. I will refer to the first post of this thread as the "Front Page". In the front page, I will be posting all the latest updates regarding the MO, so that everyone can just go there for information, and we don't need to scour the entire 40-odd pages in the thread (based on the last MO) to look for important information like updates to shipping charges, delivery options, etc... this is also a good idea for potential buyers come to this thread for the first time who want all the information for this M.O, but the MO is already running 30+ pages, and information is scattered everywhere (like poor me the last time) 2. Hi Etnt! there will not be shipping charges for accessories if you "tompang" another buyer's Sub purchase, cos SVS will put your accessories into the sub box, and shipping will be just for the sub itself. You may however wish to give kopi money to whoever you "tompang".. =) if you cannot find a buyer to tom-pang (ie: all buyers have accessories liao), you have to pay shipping lor... for that I will have to check then.. but hopefully there'll be enough generous buyers to help out.. ;) Which I would like to encourage our buyers: if you are buying just the sub, why don't you do some of our brothers on this forum a favour by offering to tompang your box? ;D Buyers: if you tom-pang-ing for someone, please do write his name on your order (follow my example), so that the tom-pang-ee will know for certain that his order is not left out in the MO.
