adnhk Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Hi All, understand that Scorpio East should be releasing their R3 version sometime next week in Singapore. However, a little patience of one more week will be seeing the release of HK R3 version, which of course comes with DTS ES 6.1 :D (ok, CD-WOW's info is always more accurate). Question now is, does anyone have any info of the rumoured director's cut where Michelle Yeoh's scenes will be restored? http://www.dddhouse.com/dddhouse/en/index.jsp?action=productDetail&productID=5274 http://www2.cd-wow.com.hk/detail_results_2.php?product_code=269928 Edit: I just found this, looks like Thailand's version will include the fight between Jet Li and the Thai Boxer, but still no confirmation if Michelle Yeoh's 40 mins will be included: http://filmphilia.com/5/article/363.html Cheers
moviefiend Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 My understanding is that Fearless, like Tom Yum Goong, is specially editted for various market by the producers to reduce parallel import and piracy. For the case of Tom Yum Goong, the english soundtrack and DVD will not be released until the title has been released in the U.S. later this year. FYI.

trump31624705757 Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Just to note Fearless R3 Hong Kong version DOES NOT have english subtitle!!! http://www.dddhouse.com/dddhouse/en/index.jsp?action=productDetail&productID=5274
Calvin83 Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Is the Thai version out yet? Yup, the Thai version is out, I've alr gotten a copy of it, but have yet to watch the movie. The box shows that there's only Thai subtitles!! Same as Ong Bak!! >:(
leonjeon Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Yup, the Thai version is out, I've alr gotten a copy of it, but have yet to watch the movie. The box shows that there's only Thai subtitles!! Same as Ong Bak!! >:( Did you get this at Poh Kim? I saw a "Deluxe" version of Fearless there, with additional stuff like booklet, etc. (which I find quite useless), but not sure if Michelle Yeoh or Thai Boxer scenes are inside? Anybody bought the Poh Khim Deluxe version of Fearless?
moviefiend Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Extended version of Fearless with reinstated footage or English subtitles will not be released in any market until Fearless is theatrically release in the U.S. and after R1 is available. If you want English subtitles, buy pirated. ;D

R6_Expert Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 AVBuzz review....http://www.avbuzz.com/audio-video/200603/fearless/index.htm You can forget about the HK release. the picture is almost the same as R6 but i prefer PAL R6 to NTSC R3. in that review, the screen captures were intentionaly reduced so that you don't see blurred image. same extras as R6, same audio as R6, but R3 only provide you traditional chinese subtitles which will be abandon by U.N. in 2008. beware of many HK dvd review websites actually backup by the same group of people (local video shops). they just good in promoting their products to overseas. they products are not as good as Korean R3 and much more expensive than Thailand R3 and R6.
adnhk Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 I bought the local R3 hence cannot comment on HK R3 for this title. However, I always prefers NTSC over PAL. With regards to subtitles, I am sorry, but you speak like Mao Ze Dong... I am a Chinese, and I can read both simplified and traditional Chinese w/o issues. With regards to your other comments on HK R3 titles, I am sorry again cos I owned at least 60 HK R3 titles thus far and apart from those cheapo SGD$4 ones, the rest are all top notch PQ and SQ. Even Panorama's SGD$10 Rambo I, II and III (LF selling 12.90 btw) with DTS, the PQ and SQ is top notch! So does Brother's Grimme, Amityville Horror 2005, etc etc titles. And did I mention all those remastered series? R6 titles, however, apart from embedded Chinese sub, the PQ and SQ can never come close to HK R3. And oh, there is another issue with R6 titles, ie, censorship question mark, cos HK R3 titles has always been completely ZERO censorship. Check out the HK R3's Sha Po Lang for example, the story ending is a complete surprise over my friend's "friendly" version, which I assume the friendly version is the same as local R3 and R6 (if there is one being released). In short, if you want complete clean, uncensored version of a DVD in Asia region with capabilities of turning off/on subtitles, HK R3 is the best bet!

I do agreed with the censorship issue but..........i just bought R6 unsensor version of SPL which only cost me around S$6.50 including postage, has the same ending as HK R3 and even come with cantonese DTS. For me, I am happy with the R6 titles i bought so far because--------Cheap ;D

adnhk Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 I do agreed with the censorship issue but..........i just bought R6 unsensor version of SPL which only cost me around S$6.50 including postage, has the same ending as HK R3 and even come with cantonese DTS. For me, I am happy with the R6 titles i bought so far because--------Cheap ;D Hi, SPL is just one example. Apologies for going off topic, but there are tons of different versions of R6 SPL and the Uncut version only came in about 3 weeks after HK version was released. It may not be important to some, but it was to me during then cos I get to enjoy with my friends in time for CNY :) The thing about R6 titles is that different studios are giving very different quality titles. Some cannot hide subtitles, some put widescreen outside the box only to find it in fullscreen mode after I opend it up at home to watch. Some are censored, uncensored version don't know when or whether will they ever release in the market, etc, etc. HK studios has reached the kind of customer's expected standard across the various studios, and when purchasing HK R3 titles (I stress again not those cheapo SGD$4 ones), consumers know they are getting no less than what is claimed by those studios, widescreen will be widescreen, 100% uncensored, no subtitles issues, quality sountrack, etc, etc. Cheers
kennyngi Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 yes, I do agree with you regarding HK R3. In order the get the best out of R6, you must do your homework, do not rush to buy on the 1st release, usually better or unsensor version will come out later. If you can't wait, go for HK R3, if you can wait, don't care about subtitle & want good & cheap DVD,for me....R6 is the best option ;D For those who want to purcahse R6 online, you can try this website http://www.joyo.com/ I have made 2 orders.......so far so good.
