Seansg Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Hi Guys, I have recently wanting to buy a full hm theater sys (amp and speakers)... but having a real headache after going to audio hse... there's just so many to choose from!! Hope you guys can give me a suggestion on what set to buy with a $2500 - $3000 budget. Thanks in advance!! Regards, Sean
Guest jonlee Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 For $3k budget, u visited the wrong place. Try paying KEC in aldephi a visit.
et8s Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 http://www.hifibargain.com See above link. Go down Adelphi for a walk, you will able to get a decent HT set for that budget.
dbchoong Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 $3k is a good budget. How about a SVS speaker package for about S$2k shipped in? For remaining $1k, quite a number of AVR to choose from. Can't tell which one is better than another. All have their pros and cons. ;D

X-Men Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Can also try the TruAudio HT system at Millennium Smart Homes in Funan. There's a thread here where members have good feedbacks on the system. Their TruCinema Series 7.1 package is going at around 2K+. Sounds awesome. Take your time and listen to a few different systems and decide for yourself which suits your ears. ;D Happy shopping. :P
hifiluv Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Good for HT...until the panasonics came into the pic... ;D yes, suggest u really give the Panny X digi amp a listen for HT, dont know if still got stock or not. only thing is export model lah, so no warranty one. but by my experience if an amp runs in without any initial pbms, unlikely to fail during the warranty period. and if under normal usage, think can last easily 5 years. eg my SR4200 is 5yrs old in Jan 06 and still solid. :)

DIRTRUN Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Good for HT...until the panasonics came into the pic... ;D Hiya, If interested in Pannys, check out the MO threads, BUT have to wait, if like me the impatient type very inconvenientlah. FWIW even up North the XR25's are quite difficult to find in stock ...IMO the Midrange Yammies(1500/2500 or 1600/2600) have better and more connection choices and better upgradability factor (got Pre outs) but then again double the $ .
