Hi:

For close to or exceeding AV amp performance, do consider the Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700!!

DTS, DD, Designed by cambridge soundworks, check out current issue of WHAT HI FI.

Also features the new SLAM subwoofer !!!

The 5700 wipes out both the sony and yammy here.

The 8 inch woofer you see is in fact a passive radiator. Behind that radiator is a 5 inch woofer that is the actual power behind this sub. As such, the 5 inch woofer explains the mediocre bass performance of the system.

Check out the review on Inspire 5700 here: http://www.penstarsys.com/Reviews/speakers/creative/inspire_5700/

for a simple system which'll give u the most bang for the moolas, go for the Yamaha. but i'm assuming that u'll be using it for dvdplayback on the PC. my brother's using it for his bedroom, and it sounds pretty decent - just that one gotta sit in front of the monitor to enjoy the show.

for very limited space, ie, usage as desktop speaks, very good buy

Unlike the Creative 5700 or the Sony, the yammy has GOT NO REMOTE.

Also if you are looking to pair it with Sound Blaster 5.1 cards, the 5700 features the most input connectivity here

Dual analog, DIN for SB Live/Audigy, Optical, Coaxial...

Acoustics verfified by Cambridge Soundworks.
