Room

The room is 7 X 5 metres and is semi-dedicated; I wanted it to be dedicated but my two young ones had other ideas.
It leads directly to the main living room which is a good compromise in that I can shut the big red doors when not in use to keep the rug rats out.

ZipTrak powered blinds.
In reference to the all matte black paint this room has been called "The Place that Light goes to Die", love it.
The nearly all black room does wonders for projection but if I would do anything different it would have been to get the neighbour who is a painter to paint the room which would have saved me the agony of four coats of Dulux Theatre Black!

Love that door!

It makes a nice little creaking sound when it is opened or closed.

Every room needs black paint and a Darth.

Ha, I was thinking you might spot that!
A few months ago for a bit over a couple hundred of bucks I got a deal from a guy on Facebook Marketplace which included 39 records.
I give one a spin every now and then.
I don't think it's for me mainly because of the effort involved and lack of digital functions but hey a bit of fun.

It seems like the door is well and truly the star of the show. 9_9

Anyway after nearly 14 years it was time to scratch the itch of some new tech.

Dutch & Dutch 8C Studios only come in one colour but that's fine by me.

They look very cool indeed, have read very positive stuff about them to would love to hear some.  I do recall the review I read indicating the cam in a range if finishes, has Australia been limited to just one?

These are the Studio model which is less expensive, made from MDF instead of solid oak for the sides, has no network audio playback capability and only comes in matt black.

Ah I see, I didn't realise there was different versions.  To be honest,  I kind of think matt black really suits the styling anyway.   The styling of the baffle look kind of odd with gloss white and oak IMO.  Have fun!

Outriggers and rollers; I don't know of any other Dutch & Dutch owner to do either. I've got a couple of young boys who like to wrestle on the rug so I wanted some more stability. I've also filled the legs up with tiny black rocks and they had to be black and not any other colour. I like the extra height the outriggers and rollers have provided.

I do like what you did for a door.

I too have a brick arch have been thinking about removing it as it's free standing, decorative only. Has given me some new thoughts.

Thanks but I have to admit that I actually can't take any credit for the big red doors.

They came with the 40 year old house built just after cyclone Tracy and were already painted red by the previous owners when I moved in 3 years ago.

I added all the blackness around them.

Below is what the room looked like when the previous owners moved in 2011 and following is what the room looked like when I moved in 2019 (funky purple).

Here's my arch. It's quite hideous and big, at the rear side wall of my lounge/ht room.

Want to get rid of or lessen It's impact. Holding back painting of house.

Where the wood stack is, is part of fireplace that was the same brick finnush, had it rendered.

Have you considered painting?  Sorry I know simple question but have seen some internal brickwork come up fantastic with paint in the past.

I actually don't mind that arch but if it was painted (as suggested above) to a colour to match the surroundings (white?) it should blend in well.

Walls are a really pale blue which I want to redo. Thinking of a mocha colour for lounge and entry. Guess I could try painting it, certainly cheaper.
