It’s Welsh language (so not Scandi) but really quite dark and with lots of slow burn menace (especially the first series). I’ve seen most of the series mentioned here and agree with posts. bones28643 Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 I enjoyed the first series of THE EAGLE a few years ago. The second series started last night on SBS with 4 episodes. I see there is also a third series. Ill record it and watch when I have all episodes. Better to record than watch on demand so I dont have to put up with ads. I can skip them. 1

I found it online and am enjoying it a lot. The ending of episode 3 actually made me laugh out loud* (spoiler alert)—something that NEVER happens to a show; chuckles occasionally but a guffaw—never. *spoiler alert "puppy love" scene

This original Professor T just gets better and better. So far I've binged 8 episodes, and while it is not as dark as <Nordic Noir> I am totally hooked. It beats (nearly?) everything I've seen on TV for quite a while. It has plot, acting, and character development. If you can find it anywhere do give it go. 1 1

Ian McP Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Furia: SBS On Demand Really enjoying this! Stunning Norwegian mountain scapes and high suspense. https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/furia https://tvblackbox.com.au/page/2021/11/16/norwegian-political-thriller-furia-arrives-at-sbs-on-demand/ < Furia is a tense, eight-part thriller with a dark, twist laden plot involving two key protagonists and four different identities. Set against the backdrop of two of Europe’s most distinguished capital cities – Oslo and Berlin – as well as rural western Norway, Furia sees them work in tandem to bring down a terrifying far right terror cell and heal the grief that drives them. An edge of your seat mix of undercover thriller and prescient political drama, the story centres around a far right extremist terror cell, hellbent on carrying out an atrocity the likes of which Europe has never seen before. Special ops officer Asgeir (Pål Sverre Hagen, Beforeigners) is living the quiet life in western Norway after escaping from the Russian underworld and assuming a new identity. When his world collides with Ragna’s (Ine Marie Willmann, Exit), they face a race against the clock to prevent the unthinkable from happening on German soil. > 2 1

betty boop Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 Crimson rivers has me gripped ...with its 2 part stores and set along the French - german border really only two characters in it inspector neimans and camille. we know little about them as they go about their business.. slowly finding out little shreds here and there. Camile is quite a tortured soul not sure the inspector has any life to speak off ! seems to be the way with the roles in these police shows... while not nordic theres plenty of noir... just given the cases and storylines am nearly done with series one looking forward soon to series 2 https://entertainment-focus.com/2021/08/19/walter-presents-the-crimson-rivers-season-2-preview-a-high-quality-police-procedural-show/ ps seems that series one is only on abs for another month so worth jumping on if want to catch hit ...series 2 is on for another 3 months so plenty time to catch that ... 1
bones28643 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Series 2 of the excellent French series THE CRIMSON RIVERS starts on SBS free to air next Tuesday night. 2
