Finally, a new Timekeeper.  And guess what the "i" stands for.   :)

That's right, Integrated.

How did Burson know my birthday was coming up?

Ha! I thought of you when I got the email today :D

it looks pretty damn cool :)

Looks nice and it is probably great but... Power input shows 24v 5A or 120w Total capacity. 100w class AB? Something doesn't add up.

Yep the email arrived in my inbox today too.  Timekeeper 3i looks like a lovely unit, I hope it sounds and measures great!  Function wise it does everything I need in my desktop space.  I eagerly await the Cafad review.

Why does basic mathematics always ruin my fun?

You are correct sir, it does not add up.  Perhaps the 100 watts is a total output rather than a wpc output.

Would you be willing to volunteer your testing services in order to determine the actual output wattage?

Could be 100w total aka 50w per channel, but the diagram on their web page says 100w PC(per channel). as ranky just pointed out as I was writing this as well.

I do hope this isn't Peak music power output instead of rms power driven into both chanels below a certain distorion measurement.

I would be more than happy to do some testing to get some specifications for that amp.

So it does.  Well spotted, I missed that.

I guess we'll have to wait until some test results are available.

I'll let you know once it arrives Simon and we can arrange to let you get it on your test bench.

I hate to be a wet blanket but why is everything priced in USD and what is the actual price in AUD?

Go to addicted to audio for Aus price. They might be a Melbourne company but why cater to 25 million people when you can aim for 330 million? :)

Yeah and A2A will charge their usual unconscionable price mark up.

I won't buy anything from A2A

OK, I see in the manual for the new Timekeeper 3i it lists the power supply as 24 volt and 8 amp, not 24 volt and 5 amp as it says on the Burson website (and also seems to be printed on the back of the unit that the pictures are taken of).  That would get it very close to 100wpc but not quite all the way.

Or, if both the speaker terminals are hot (ie a balanced or bridged design) then maybe that could help explain the discrepancy.

I hope some details like this get a mention when the reviews start showing up.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got the email, estimated delivery is July 12.

I have this feeling that the wait will seem even longer now.

Sensei Cafad, I am very interested to know if the concerns about wattage are problematic... like does the t3i go loud enough for you?

It's a sweet and neat looking vertical unit.

Is it just me, or does the Timekeeper look to be a balanced design?

That's the Timekeeper 3 on the left and the Funk on the right.

With my extensive electronics knowledge and diagnostic prowess I can definitely say that looks to me to be a circuit topology that is without a doubt, red.

How does it sound? :)

Crimson-ish with a dash of Sienna.
