cazzesman
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_in_music As my radio alarm woke me from my slumber, I heard the announcer mention a list of Albums released in 1971. 50 Years ago...............where has life gone?????? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_in_music#January Check out the stellar list, many of which framed our musical journey. The list is incredible and just goes on and on and on. You could spend the next fives years, starting in January '71 and working your way though the list to December and never get bored. Amazing. Wimbo
Pretty mad how many top bands and artists there were back then. My last year of school. 15 in 70, 25 in 80. From memory, a lot of overseas artists were denied airplay on 2SM and 2UW. A lot of Aussie copies back then. Always preferred BJ Thomas's version of Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head to Farnham's for instance. Edited May 2, 2021 by Wimbo
Guest deanB
Pretty impressive reading. I was only 3½ y.o. when 1971 kicked off but I do have more than a few of those artists/groups in my collection. The '70s might be my retrospective sweet spot. Interesting to see Amon Düül II listed, one of my favourite discoveries (alongside Can) in recent years. Edited May 2, 2021 by deanB
