Mr.Anderson
Hi All, Looking for a Cabinet Maker who can repair my REL R505 Subwoofer. I shipped it from London but when it arrived I noticed that all 4 feet have been wrenched off due to someone not being careful with handling it. I should've known better to ship it upside down. . Luckily everything else seems unharmed and intact. I think either we can go the easy way and paste the feet back with some good MDF glue, or go the hard way by removing the entire bottom plate and putting a new piece of MDF there. Any advice is welcome. Cheers Edited February 24, 2021 by Mr.Anderson
GregWormald
As long as it sounds OK, I'd recommend some good glue.
Bisguittin
Go the glue path. The breaks look clean and should remarry very easily. I would personally use Titebond Original Glue for this exercise.
tktran
PVA glue is stronger than MDF. I once tested a 18mm MDF butt joint using PVA glue. Then tried to snap the two pieces where they were glued together. Well, the MDF snapped. The glued joint stayed put. Just clean the edges, appy the PVA glue, clamp both edges for 24 hours, and you're good to go.,
