ferchersan Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 I'm assuming the offline content is in Lossy format as each song was only taking around 10sec to download, would be good if you could choose the download Quality Somewhere in the settings you can specify the offline/download format. Settings -> Streaming - > Download Quality - > HIFI Cheers, LF 3
New Sensations Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Settings -> Streaming - > Download Quality - > HIFI Cheers, LF That's the one.
Alfred Hayes Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Has anyone tried the abs.digitalfeed.net test based on the Tidal test? Is there is a difference between 320kbps and tidal lossless? Apparently there is and I did better than I expected. Some tracks are easier than others.
rantan Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Too expensive IMO. Will wait and see what unfolds.
wolster Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Happily trying the 30 day trial at hi-fi level. First browsing suggests that the album list is not as good as Spotify. e.g. Passenger: Tidal: Spotify:
the sound of Tao Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Just downloaded Amarra SQ to stream through to avoid core audio when going through Google Chrome - sounds good. Had a few dropouts but relaunched Amarra which seems to have done the trick. Listening to Akinmusires playlist of his favourite Blue Note recordings... Great start, enjoying the access to new content.
adamg Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.3 - 1375965195 @ Mon Aug 19 11:42:55 PDT 2013 Reinstall of LMS has done the trick - Tidal up and running on the SBT. Lets see how it goes. Still early stages but I think the IOS App has it over the Spotify equivalent which used to get a lot of use.

RockandorRoll Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Too expensive IMO. Will wait and see what unfolds. Agreed. Plus these things are all about library size. The Passenger example above is enough to make me stay with Spotify for awhile yet.
the sound of Tao Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) G'day AS, Ambrose Akinmusires playlist just came up on the top of the browser when I went to jazz in the genres... I'm still on my Ls with driving this thing myself. Am currently listening to Dudemel driving the Mahler 7 and he is doing a much better job of it... Little Bruno Walter like moments happening in his reading which is always cool from where I sit. Am still getting the occasional need to reboot Amarra as it streams brilliantly for a while but occasionally it'll just start having an analogue moment with a series of clicks and pops and assorted dropouts (saves me buying a vinyl rig) Just a bit buggy at present which I hope to sort out but am loving the sound thru Amarra... Plenty of air and really sweet, I'm surprised how good it's come together. Edited March 31, 2015 by the sound of Tao 1
georgepapa Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Hi everyone. I've just subscribed to the one month trial offer from the hi Rez music streaming service now available in Australia. The price of subscription for lossless steaming and downloads is 24$ per month . I'll have to mull this over. This is much more than any other music subscription service however what's on offer is pretty much focussed on the audiophile and those others who find that compression rates of even 320kpbs lack the detail of uncompressed audio. This price could possibly equate to two cd's a month. My only criticism of the service is that downloads are only available on hand held devices, not on your PC. I understand this capability will be introduced later on.
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted April 1, 2015 Volunteer Posted April 1, 2015 I don't think it's hi-rez
ferchersan Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 It's not hi-res. It's Redbook quality. 16/44.1kHz Cheers, LF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DdDesign Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The 1 logged in and 3 off-line is a little annoying. I was wanting to download some stuff offline onto my phone at the same time as listening on the Bluesound Node and it logged me out of the Bluesound Node Also, has anyone had any issues playing Tidal in Hifi on Chrome 41.0? I can play at High quality, but I'm not getting any sound or track movement on Hifi.... The FAQ seems to point to 39, but I only downloaded Chrome for Tidal and so I've got the latest. Yeh I had this problem and assumed its because my internet is too slow. I am in the countryside just out of Perth WA and can only get the 3G network.
DdDesign Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Looks like I will stay with MOG for now. Being with Telstra I get MOG for $12.99 p/mth (on mobile and computer) and no charge for data use. Its a pity because I would definitely consider Tidal if I could stream in HiFI lossless. MOG gives me 320Kbps which is the same as Tidal High quality. On another point, I tried Amarra SQ and found a great improvement when steaming MOG. 1

SteveC Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 It will be interesting to see what Apple does with Beats/MOG in response to Tidal and Spotify. Too many $$ invested to sit on their hands.
Bill125812 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I'm running Dezer premium on a Cullen moded Sonos connect. Wonder if Tidal sounds any better
rantan Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I'm running Dezer premium on a Cullen moded Sonos connect. Wonder if Tidal sounds any better For sit down, critical listening I would say Yes. For general bopping around the house, while you are doing other stuff listening, I doubt the perceived difference would matter very much. I also think it is over priced at $24PM and others have much better libraries.
Bill125812 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) I tend to agree Rantan. There certainly is a noticeable difference in quality from Mog to Deezer premium. Might get the free month and see what happens Edited April 1, 2015 by Bill125812
Viognier Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Just to clarify. This is the Tidal subscription service that has already been discussed at length in this thread yes? Or is this something else? This post got merged in from another new Tidal thread thus why it now looks out of context. 2
Guest Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Yeah sorry for the lack of flow guys, but it makes sense to contain it all in one thread.
Chickenism Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Anybody else having issues? Took me three goes to get signed up now I can't stream. "Hifi streaming unfortunately failed. Click here to reload and try again." Grrrrrrr... Been looking forward to this one all day, but **** like this puts me off. I don't have any of the same issues with Spotify. Or my own music.
SimplifiedLife Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 My issue is that I still cannot stream in Hifi mode from Chrome 41. Submitted a support ticket lunch time yesterday and still no love. I've been comparing alac encoded CDs to tidal on the Bluesound Node and I'm hearing some differences that aren't great. It is lacking fullness in the body. Unfortunately I've no way to see what bit rate in receiving
k3here Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I am loving this Tidal thingy. Awesome quality. Much improvement over Mog. I am streaming through Auralic Aries. I might also trial Deezer premium before free trial ends.
