BuzzzFuzzz Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 G'day Folks. I've developed a static like sound during playback on a recently acquired CD deck. It was playing beautifully until it started... I've checked all connections. Off hand it sounds like a component is failing somewhere... I still have sound... but constant noise, even between tracks. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks. Ant.
pwstereo Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Could it be interference from a display multiplex driver or similar? Perhaps try dimming or turning off the display if such an option exists and see if the interference changes. Change the interconnecting signal cable or reroute it, again to see if the interference changes.
BuzzzFuzzz Posted November 11, 2020 Author Posted November 11, 2020 G'day @pwstereo Thanks for the tips mate. I don't think it is actually static, but sounds very similar. There are no options to reduce the display lights, but again, I don't think it's interference from anything... Nothing has changed, and the sound started instantly. I've changed interconnects... and amps... definitely the CD deck. Cheers.
John Buchanan Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 ?? laser failure. How old is the player?
